Aegom Interactive experiences strong growth thanks to market demand for interactive whiteboard content Founded in 2008, Aegom Interactive was the first company to create commercially available content specifically for SMART Notebook collaborative learning software. With a growing product line, Aegom Interactive currently offers SMART Notebook lessons for grades K–8, correlated to state learning standards in math, English and science. And as a result of its efforts, Aegom Interactive has recently been upgraded to an Elite Accredited Member of the SMART Ecosystem Network.
Aegom Interactive was created to fill the gap between the demand for interactive, digital curriculum content and the available resources in the market. Aegom Interactive’s products are designed exclusively for SMART Notebook software.
Despite the challenging economic climate during the past few years, demand for Aegom Interactive’s products has been strong. Since launching in 2008, the company has already sold nearly US$2 million worth of curriculum titles for SMART Notebook.
Todd Deluca, President of Aegom Interactive, explains that “even though budgets are stretched, schools and districts have made large investments in classroom technology, and they are looking for affordable digital curriculum resources that are aligned to state standards. Our products are well received because they help teachers take advantage of their technology.”
Using the Gallery Publisher for SMART Notebook software, Aegom Interactive’s lessons install directly within the Gallery in SMART Notebook and are organized by grade level and subject. “This makes the lesson activities conveniently accessible for teachers, and helps us market our products as integrated with SMART Notebook software,” says Deluca.
In addition, to help teachers evaluate student understanding, each curriculum title that Aegom Interactive offers for SMART Notebook includes a companion quiz designed for SMART Response interactive response systems.
Deluca credits the SMART Ecosystem Network for helping to increase Aegom Interactive’s visibility among educators. SMART has featured the company in publications and has demonstrated its lessons at conferences and during training sessions. And helping to fuel the demand for interactive whiteboard content, adds Deluca, are grants and funding programs available to help schools and districts offset the expense of their digital-content purchases.
“SMART Notebook lessons have the potential to qualify under budgets for technology, curriculum resources, special education needs, economically disadvantaged learners and more. As a result,” says Deluca, “we’ve been able to achieve a great return on our investment in interactive whiteboard content.”
